چکیده

Superconductivity was first discovered around 1913 by Heike Kamerlingh-Onnes as a result of his systematic study of conductivity at very low temperatures using liquid Helium. He discovered that the resistance of Mercury suddenly dropped to zero at 4.2 Kelvin. Thus at 4.2K mercury makes a transition from normal conducting state to superconductive state. This temperature at which a material’s resistance suddenly drops to zero is called critical temperature denoted by Tc.[1] But this sudden drop in resistance is not the only feature of superconductivity, along with electrical properties, the magnetic properties of the material also change.

مطالعه وابستگی چگالی جریان بحرانی به سطح مقطع نمونه در ابررساناهای سرامیکی YBa2Cu3O7-δ و Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy

In this paper, the effect of the cross-section on the critical current density (Jc) of a sample in ceramic superconductors YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) and Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2cu3Oy (BPSCCO) has been studied. Five orthorhombic bar samples of YBCO with cross-sections of 6.25, 7.67, 9.25, 11.76, 14.67 mm2 and also five orthorhombic bar samples of BPSCCO with cross-section of 6.4, 9.01, 11.88, 13.86, 14.98 m...

I Solid state magnetic field sensors and I applications

This review discusses the propetties d magnetic field sensors based on semiconduclors, such as Hall generators and magnetoresislors, and on magnetic metals, such as permalloy and the recently discovered 'giant magnetoresistance' metallic multilayers. Some emphasis is placed on the comparison between sensors made using these different technologies. Applications of magnetic field sensors in magne...

Vortex flow and transverse flux screening at the bose glass transition

We study the vortex phase diagram in untwinned YBCO crystals with columnar defects. These randomly distributed defects are expected to induce a "Bose glass" phase of localized vortices exhibiting a vanishing resistance and Meissner effect for magnetic fields H( perpendicular) transverse to the columns. We directly observe the transverse Meissner effect using a Hall probe array. As predicted, th...

Verification of d-wave pairing symmetry by microwave intermodulation distortion measurements in yttrium barium copper oxide

We report measurements of the temperature and power dependence of the microwave frequency intermodulation distortion (IMD) in high quality pulsed laser deposition (PLD) Yttrium Barium Copper Oxide (YBCO) on LaAlO 3 substrate. A low-temperature (T < 30 K) increase in IMD is the observation of an upturn of the nonlinear coefficient of the quadratic field dependence of the penetration depth. This ...

Bose glass melting and the transverse Meissner effect in YBa2Cu3O7Àd single crystals

We map out the phase boundary separating the vortex solid and liquid phases in YBa2Cu3O72d ~YBCO! single crystals with irradiation-induced columnar defects. These randomly distributed, extended defects are expected to localize vortices into a ‘‘Bose glass’’ phase. The transition from the vortex liquid into the Bose glass is predicted to exhibit two fundamental signatures: a vanishing of the lin...
